The world of reality TV and people surely held its breath the night of October 2 to 3, 2016. Indeed, it was on this date and in the middle of Fashion Week that reality star and businesswoman Kim Kardashian was the victim of an armed robbery. Jewelry worth 9 million euros were stolen from the American star. Yunice Abbas, one of the robbers, as they were 4 and all over 60 years old at the time, comes back on this night in his book entitled "I sequestered Kim Kardashian".
In provisional freedom
We all have a story to tell, especially when we were part of the "grandfather robbers". This is the name they were given because of their age at the time of the facts. Quite unprecedented.
Nearly five years after the facts, Yunice, now 67 years old and in provisional freedom after twenty-two months of firm prison, wanted in his book co-written with the independent journalist Thierry Niemen to re-establish the truth about the facts which took place that night.
In an interview given to Le Figaro in February 2021, he gives an overview of the content of his book and gives more details about what happened that night. Moreover, his version of events is quite strangely different from that of Kim Kardashian. Although he assures that he was not among those who attacked the American star in his room, he says that contrary to what has been mediatized, things did not happen like that.
The one who today regrets his act, insists first of all on the fact that Kim Kardashian would have simply given herself up without putting up any resistance. He also refutes the statements according to which they would have put it in the bathtub, affirming that this one was occupied by another person (apparently the assistant of Kim) without that they do not notice it during the robbery.
Waiting for his judgment
If today the young American woman pursues her life and even turned to the law, Yunice him, awaits his judgement in criminal court which will take place in nearly a year. Having been in prison for a good part of his life, he hopes not to return this time.
